Questions
Does the April 2027 tax rise make the split worth more?
No. The property rates are due to rise to 24%, 44% and 49%, but the gap between the basic and higher rates stays at 20 points. The worked illustration in the pack shows the arithmetic.
What is the deadline for Form 17?
HMRC must receive it within 60 days of the date of the declaration, and the signing day counts as day 1. The pack includes a tracker.
Will this suit every couple?
No. The split must be genuine and there can be CGT, lender and other consequences. The pack sets out when to take advice before you sign.
